Who We Support

There are several criteria for determining PAC contributions. BAYERPAC promotes the election of responsible, qualified candidates to public office, regardless of party affiliation. When considering which candidates to support, we consider the following:

Does the candidate:

• Support access to new medicines and agricultural tools
• Support policies that increase markets for our products and those of our customers, including the use of renewable fuels
• Advance free trade and regulatory cooperation among trading partners
• Recognize and reward the importance of scientific innovation and protecting intellectual property
• Support tax policies that encourage innovation and business investment
• Advocate for science-based policies that address climate change and protect biodiversity
• Support efforts to end workplace discrimination

We also take into consideration a candidate’s:

• Leadership positions
• Committee assignments
• Professional background 
• Proximity to Bayer facilities 

It’s important to note that there isn’t any individual candidate who will fit the bill on all these criteria. We weigh our contributions to candidates on balance; no single issue is either qualifying or disqualifying. 

2022 Election Cycle Candidate Support 
In the 2022 election cycle, we supported 57 U.S. House candidates and 17 U.S. Senate candidates. BAYERPAC supported 196 candidates at the state level.
